I ran across these birds and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify them. The first one looks very much like a small hawfinch, but its wings are all brown (the white and black parts are below, in the belly near the legs and the tail) and its beak is off-white. For the second one, I have no idea :( One thing to keep in mind is that there are chances they are from continental Europe (maybe France). Thanks so much in advance!!!!
The first one is a Masked Finch/Masked Grassfinch Poephila personata (not European, it's an Australian species). The second I don't recognise, it looks like it's going to be a Carduelis species... will see if I can work it out...
psst, want to see my blog? http://robandmazza.blogspot.com
