Just been out to the greenhouse and found this young bird. Not able to fly yet and, shame on me, i've no idea what it is. Identification and advice please - the wife's out collecting worms
Hi Angus i'm wondering if it's a Chaffinch..
You shouldn't need to feed it, leave it to the parents
My photos are on Flickr and Website
Thinking Robin getting its feathers Wouldn't worry about it too much looks in good health the parents won't be far away. observe for a while with door open before interferring
a good laugh is better than a tonic
Thanks Guys. Advice followed, observed from a distance and mother feeding. Now identified - its a Blackcap!! Will post the picture of mother
Wow now you've said that you can see a different colouring to its head
Blimey Angus. Not many of those lurking about in greenhouses! Good luck to the little fella, and plenty of photos please!

observed this unidentified baby from a distance after finding it in the greenhouse today. Mother eventually put in an appearance so it appears all will be well
