As far as I know Guldenstadt's Redstart has never been recorded in Britain. It will be interesting to see what the bird is when you post your photo, Davie.

Yeah that would be fantastic from the pictures I have looked at it is quite a beefy bird.

SeamanAccording to one site I found (view from north britain) says the bird is a rare vagrant to Scotland but I am not sure how reliable the site is for bird info.
I think you may have read the webpage too quickly Seaman - it talks about Terek Sandpiper (which is a rare vagrant to Scotland and elsewhere in Britain, before moving on to Guldenstadt's Redstart (never recorded in Britain)!
I think we've probably all scanned quickly through something and made similar mistakes!
