Hi this little bird was lurking in the tree over looking my garden, near the feeding station, could it be a greenfinch or a female yellowhammer?

It's been moved for you pal by the MODS ..i think MrsT is on the ball fresh from her holiday
I think the Mods must have moved the thread because it seems to be in the right forum.
I agree with doggie that your bird is probably a Chiffchaff or Willow Warbler but wouldn't like to call it.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. (Chinese proverb)
Funnily enough i've just had one land for about 10 secs on the patio table on its way through the garden.
I've just looked back to my records for last year. It was about the middle of August when both species plus Whitehroat turned up in my garden. Things are on the move and Autumn beckons.
I get a quick visit from one every now and again on its way through..at the minute i've got nothing guess who has just paid a visit lol.
Sparrowhawk??
yep
