Hi Ben
We have had several posts and photos on this forum of leucistic and albino birds appearing in our gardens.
It's not commonplace but I'd say not very, very rare.
Cheers
Pipit
They had some pictures of a white head robin on springwatch tonight.
Would love to see some pictures if your into that Ben.

Hello Ben, as others have said, whilst by no means a common sight, it is a lot less rare than one might imagine - several others on this forum have shared their leucistic/albino birds with us - I, for instance, have a blackbird with a speckled white head - he looks very scruffy, but at least I can always recognise him! It would be nice to see some photographs of your blackbird and robin, if you have any!
Regards,
Anna.
Ive seen a leucistic Red Kite at Rhayadar, it was amazing. :)

Hi Ben and welcome to the forum,
Have you any photos of your unusual birds? We'd love to see them. As the others have said, leucism isn't common but isn't rare either, just unusual!
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Ben we also have had a robin with a white tail, he is also fairly whitish on his breast as well, we haven't seen him this winter but i took a photo of him last winter (2010/2011).
I once had a leucistic blackbird in my garden too. It looked like it would have white hair and a long white beard - just like an old man, but winged, very suggestive indeed.
