A Great Tit for me with a broad chest stripe
Regards Alan
My photos are on Flickr and Website
It seemed too small and the white one the face is more of a stripe!! Must just be odd markings!! Thanks
Hi Marmite don't take my word for it i'm usually wrong lol..wait for the others
Well I will believe anything as I haven't a clue!! LOL
There are a few members on the forum that are 99.9% certain with their ID's (Aiki and Seymouraves to name two)..if one of them says it's something it usually is.
I agree with doggie that it's a Great Tit. A male, I think, the way the chest stripe goes right under the belly. It's probably the angle of viewing that makes the cheek patch look more like a stripe.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. (Chinese proverb)
many thanks
Incidentally, Marmite, I know the forum can be very confusing but the Big Garden Birdwatch Forum is probably not the best place to post queries of this kind. For most wildlife matters the Wildlife Forum (in this case "Identify this" would be the most appropriate) is the best place or for non wildlife matters the Chat Forum can be useful.
Don't worry though, you are doing just fine.
Yes! Possibly a young one.
hadn;t thought it might me a youngster at this time of the year
I would say it is a Great Tit. I have a few that visit my garden a lot to feed. Regards Bob.
That's a great tit....bigger than a blue tit...
I get loads of these in my garden.... seem to come in packs :)
Hello Marmite, don't know if this is any help to you but here is a photo of the Blue Tit and the Great Tit on the feeder dish together so it gives you an idea of size and markings.
Kind regards,
Hazel
