Marsh Harrier?

John, Our resident female/juvenile ;) I can even tell where it was taken :) More importantly when was this taken? have not had any reports recently and was wondering if the bird has actually moved on

Was this taken at Leighton Moss? Saw one near there last month at Haws Water

Hi Scruff, I strongly suspect that this was taken at Newport Wetlands NNR, probably in the Boat Lane area ;)

Sorry Scruff but Nigel (Barman58) is right on the money for both location and date. Would love to visit Haws Water though - isn't this the only! place in England where Golden Eagles nest? As a Manchester lad I only know that our water came from up there!

Never knew about the G Eagles at Haws water. Had I known I would have gone back for another look.

There's currently just one Golden Eagle at Haweswater, the female of the pair having disappeared some years ago. The male remains and displays through the spring in the hope that a new female will come along. The RSPB have a viewing stand there sometimes with scopes :)

As Aiki says there is only the male left but he does still display,living in hope.There is a number of rumours about the fate of the female,some do not bear thinking about.
