Can you please identify this bird?

New bird arrived on the bird table today.  Not sure but think its a redpoll.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is a male Redpoll, Suzanne. Cracking little bird with stunning colour. I only ever see them in the winter.

Thanks everyone.  I think I posted this in the wrong part of the forum :-s.  I did repost in the 'Identify This' bit so please ignore the repetition.  And also for your paitence me being a newby and all.  The Redpoll was a complete surprise to be honest. Would love to put a camcorder to record the birdtable 24/7 for a couple of days to see if I'm missing anything else.  If anyone has any views on the best type I would be grateful for your comments.  Thanks once again.

Brilliant Suzanne. A lovely male in full breeding plumage looking like he has been dipped in pink paint, and a beautiful addition to your garden.

Really pleased.  The Redpolls are back in force this year.  We have 5 at the last count....which is 4 more than last year. Beautiful birds.
