Thank you all for your replies to my "Mystery Bird" . Now the mystery deepens because I thought the attached photo was a Baby Blackbird , but it is
completely different to "Mystery bird." so apparently not . More ideas please !
Hi Teddy it is a Blackbird but not sure if it's a juvenile or a female.
At this time of year and if you're lucky enough to get more than one family of adults you're going to get the full range of youngsters, the first brood will now be getting their adult feathers while new chicks are still turning up. And they will all be looking different from each other.
Hi Teddy, yep definitely a young blackbird. I have five of them hopping around my lawn at the moment and they all have slightly different plumage from beige to brown to black, some with loads of spots and some with just a few. There seems to be an awful lot of them around at the moment. That's a lovely photo.
Agree with the others. I think it's probably a very young one with what appears to be some baby down still clinging to its feathers.
This one is an adult female (yellow bill and eye-ring, no spotting on the plumage).
Oops! Roy is of course right. Should have looked at it more carefully.
Thanks for help,. Teddy

Female adult blackbird, moulting - heck we all have bad hair days.
