    I have known that birds are much more intelligent than many people give them credit for, sparrows using ants as a tool to preen themselves with is not an uncommon task, but I was amazed to see that they have their own dentists too now.

    The most glorious sight I have ever seen. Immense murmuration of starlings just north of Gretna in Southern Scotland. Amazing. There is also my film on Youtube.... www.youtube.com/heandfi I'm told that the flocks are gathering up there again this year and well worth a visit.

    The other day a 'mob' of Starlings descended on our 20 foot Cordyline to feast on the berries (which are more like pale green peas), they come each year. The photo shows a small group of them and was taken through glass so as not to scare them.
