    Saw what I identified as a Hen Harrier this afternoon, at Stocks Golf Club outside Albury, Herts. From a distance it looked like a pigeon, but it was unmistakeably a bird of prey, with a hooked beak. Thoughts?

    Hi and welcome to the forum, gievn the large size then common buzzard, red kite or marsh harrier are worth considering.     It is possible that you saw a pale phase buzzard Ant, check out the illustrations on our species profile page linked here the third pic' shows a pale phase buzzard.
