  • I  am a new Member and wondered if anayone can answer me a query.

We had 7 Blue tits Fledged from one of our nest Boxes and 4 Great Tits from another one earlier this year

.During this last week we have had visits to the boxes by Blue Tits with one staying each night in each box.Is this normal at this time of year, would it be roosting or "showing interest" for next years nesting.?

  • Hi Coley welcome to the forum.

It could be scouting for next year but i should say they are using them for roosting in, i know they use them in winter for sleeping in at night

    Regards Alan

My photos are on Flickr and Website

  • Yes, a friend of mine uses nest boxes and she gets 'roosters' in there, although it's usually in the colder weather
