Hi MarJus, I did mention salt above - same post where I mentioned Patio Magic - so it's good John has confirmed it works. I just use cheapest table salt, nothing fancy like the stuff they mix with grit for gritting in bad weather.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Yes you did Squirrel! Sorry and thank you! I did read it but for whatever reason it didn't register at the time! Lol! Think that's the route we shall take!! :-)

It seems cheeper than weed killer as well (strange world) Sorry Squirrel it never dropped with me either (the penny) Fingers crossed and good luck MarJus.

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
No need for apologies either of you! John, do you use ordinary table salt or is another type (rock salt etc.) more effective?
The only thing that would bother me a little about using salt is whether it would run off into surrounding soil and cause problems? Don't know much about the effects of salt on soil (or how much would be needed to have an adverse effect).
Just a thought!
