Has anyone noticed that a lot of the Holly leaves seem to have been partly eaten this year,is there a known grub/insect;caterpiller that would eat them ,I can get photo's if needed,I am not sure if this a local problen or a wider one ,have looked at trees in a ten mile radius all the same? any idea's welcome.

Holly leaf miners tunnel inside Holly leaves leaving discoloured patches (the Tits are pretty good at hunting for these), but it could be rabbits, deer or another insect munching away oon the leaves.

The holly in my hedge is all looking wonderful + very prickly as I've been cutting some of it back.
Kat's holly leaf miner sounds like its worth looking for.

Hi Mick just got back from having a look at some here and a few leaves have been eaten by something..looks a bit like caterpillar damage so Kat,s leaf miners might be to blame..but nothing drastic.
