Hi alan do dunnock's have long legs like robins? thats what made me think it was a robin
Don't know pal you have a good point..i was going on the colour of its back and the look of the face..you are probably correct
well the robin/dunnock is very bandy in the leg department
The young Robins i had last year look grumpy little things from the front, it will be interesting to see what the others say..i've got a Robin collecting food at the minute.
just been looking at some other pix of the donnock i belive your right Alan
if you don't get a response in here put the photo in the identify this forum
will do mate cheers
Dunnocks have pink/red legs (unlike Robins).
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
Cheers john so a dunnock it is then a 1st for me even though i do have adults in the garden all the time
yep its came back its a donnock fledgling
The birds down here in Southampton must be slow, the adults are still filling their beaks with my soaked mealworms and flying off. I have seen no fledgings here. They must be reluctant to leave the nest with all that good food coming in.
im in north notts/south yorks boarder thats worksop while eatting my dinner im sure i saw 3 siskins fleadglings seen 1 male and 2 female adults today so there might be more. also ive seen lots of birds today eatting the dasiy off the lawn pulling the flowers and munching on whats below.
