a few days ago I updated my original post (http://www.rspb.org.uk/community/wildlife/f/19351/t/78296.aspx) with a picture of the male duck in our garden, and said that I've not seen his female for a few weeks.
Little did I know that she had a nest under a prickly bush in our garden, next to where I'd been mowing and strimming, and the first I knew of it was when I looked through our patio doors today and saw this....
I think it's the first day these 10 ducklings have been out of their nest, and they've been swimming ...
The orange thing is a big koi fish, which won't be too impressed when these ducklings start growing.
Wow, what a lovely surprise
gorgeous little beauties.
How fantastic
How lovely! I hope your Koi doesn't have a taste for duckling...
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Superb. How nice to have these in your garden. Mum will have her hands full with ten to keep an eye on.
Take care all, Stich.

How lovely! I bet not so many people have that sort of view out of their patio window!
My word that's utterly gorgeous!

What a super surprise for you - ten cute ducklings. She must have been a wily mum to keep that secret from you. Hope they do well on your pond.
