Tree sparrow, Rabbit, 2 crow’s nest, Wood pigeon, Jackdaw, Herring gull, Female blackbird
20/6/2012 (Llanfairfechan beach)
Little egret, Carrion crow, Siskin, Wood pigeon, Jackdaw, swallow, Herring gull, Yellow legged gull, 2 mute swans with cygnets, 4 mallards with chicks, Rock dove/pigeon
23/6/2012 Rspb reserve Conwy
Guided tour around the 3 hides with Pat Finlay Kj and dad…..Fin gave up half way round…mum took him back and had a coffee…..kieran and dad carried on around the walk 2 miles or so….took 2 hours Kieran was really well behaved and asked lots of clever questions…..

Bee Orchid, Lesser Black backed gull, Blue tit, Great tit, Oyster Catcher, Tufted Duck, Grey Heron, Canada geese (100`s can`t fly at the moment as they are moulting), Swallow, Great crested grebe, Peregrine (daddy saw it twice Kieran didn’t see it and he was disappointed), Reed Warbler, Black tailed Godwit, Greylag, Red Breasted Merganser, Cormorant, Coot, Pied Wagtail, Lapwing, Shelduck, Curlew, Greater Black Backed Gull, Moorhen, Swift, House Martin, Carrion crow, Wood pigeon, Herring gull, Black bird, Little Egret, Mute swan, Herring gull.

30/6/2012 All 4 of us went to Rspb centre Conwy 2 new species Reed Bunting in café on feeder and Redshank in second hide far bank…….great tit blue tit and juv blue tit…..pied wagtail little egret swan oyster catcher cananda geese 100s tufted duck grebe mallards (fox had been seen from café we didn’t see it). Usual gulls and a rabbit…..weather was really wet but we had a good time lovely coffee only finlay managed to trap his finger in the toilet door!

1/7/2012 Rspb south stack
On A55 we saw 4 Buzzards, Peregrine, Kestrel, At South Stack started off with Skylark on way to Elins tower …..At tower we saw a Puffin asleep on water which the guide pointed out for us with the scope….Fulmar, Razorbills, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Chough, Black backed greater & lesser normal gulls too……jackdaw , carrion crow. On return home we again saw a couple of unidentified birds of prey one dad is sure was a sparrowhawk……so lots of new species today for the boys ……more to follow ……Glaslyn soon….Porthmadog here we come!

Persisted it down on friday a months rain in 1 day...so went for the guided tour as we thought the birds would be out today......48 species for the day .....12 new birds for kieran.Teal, Dunlin, Black headed gulls, Greenfinch, Common sandpiper, Dunnock, Dunlin, Starlings, Whitethroat. Eider duck, Goldfinch. Finest bird of the day was a male scaup never seen b4 at conwy.
63 species so far !

Redstart alan the warden myself and Kj were lagging behind and we spotted it just before the benarth Hide ....
We had to walk round behind it to see it....Now I had a good look at it and so did alan who tells me it was summer plumage.....Im not convinced but hes the expert and I couldnt really argue with him could i ?

What a day overcast so just fancied a little walk !
Great start with Herring Gull , Mallard, Oyster catchers, cormorant, Grey heron, carrion crow, Siskins, Herring gulls, Black headed gulls, Canada Geese see below pic

Nice pair of redshank, A lovely skylark in the fields, Pied wagtails a plenty !

Little Egrets, Greylags, Sandmartins, Collared Doves, Sparrows , Wren and Magpies.!
Never thought id see so many Birds down there .....there was about 5 brown stuff I couldnt recognise too !
New bird for boys too Wren !....cheeky glimpse though it didnt hang around for long fleeting sight !
However at the first hide the lapwings made my day as they are a lot rarer than they ever used to be !

Thought we would make a day of it so took the picnic business flask of tea for kieran you know the score !
Great drive ......just passing thru Bryncir I think it was and all I heard is finlay shouting dad dad kite!.....so as i avoided driving into a dry stone welsh wall like the grand slam winning welsh scrum I looked out my window and there true as his word was an unmistakeable kite!....Dont know if it was passing through or taking a bow but fantastic my 6 year old son identified a red kite ! Good lad finlay !

The Holy Grail ..........Osprey was achieved after a lovely Buzzard and blue tits, Greenfinches, chaffinches sparrows,swifts, gulls herring black backed and black headed magpies pigeon housemartins sparrows and carrion crow!
