See red, and join me for a scrap at feeding time.
Gliding and spiralling, soaring and diving on our huge wings, you might think we're taking it easy. But don't be fooled.
One sight of food, and all you'll see is a flash of red plumage as we zoom to the ground and snatch what we can.
We're not the only ones who'll be there. Kestrels, buzzards and ravens also hang around, ready to grab a morsel or two.
And if you come during the breeding season you're in for a real treat. Live images from our nest will be shown on screens at the red kite centre - letting you peer right into our family life. While during winter, the screens will be filled with images of us diving down to the food left out for us
So what are you waiting for? Come along to Lerrocks Farm to see the mother of all food fights.
Ranger-led visits to the hide cost £4 (concessions and family tickets are available).
When can you see us?
The red kite centre is open all day. Food is put out at the feeding station once a day at 1.30pm from the last Sunday in October through to 20 February, and at 2.30pm for the rest of the year.
Please be aware that this is a working farm, and that we sometimes need to close the centre for essential farm activity. It's therefore best to check we are open before your visit.
How to find us
Lerrocks Farm is on Argaty estate, near Doune, between Stirling and Callander. Take the A820 from the A9 or the A84 from Stirling to Callander. When you reach Doune, turn north up King Street to Argaty. The project is signposted.
What should I bring?
Robust footwear is essential for guided walks and wet weather gear is recommended. A picnic area is available.
