Ghosts of the forest - black grouse watch14 March to 9 May 2010
You'll recognise me easily, I'll be the one strutting around with my backside in the air. This really was excellent. Reminds me why I'm an RSPB member. The staff and volunteers were really superb and of course the birds are brilliant. When can you see us?You'll need to set your alarm clock. Guided walks start at 5.30 am and run on various dates throughout March to May. We spend approximately one hour at the hide. What's at the site? There are ten pairs of binoculars and three high-resolution telescopes available for you to use. And this year, speakers in the hide (attached to our microphone out on the moor) will let you hear all the interesting sounds males make as they try to woo any watching females. How to find usAll details, including directions, will be posted to those who book on a walk. What should I bring?A suggested list of equipment and clothing is sent with the confirmation document to those who book on a walk. Still got some questions?Telephone: To book your place on a walk, please call 029 2035 3008 Why not make a day of it?Did you know that the black grouse walks take place in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Clwydian Range? Forming part of Clwydian Country, there are plenty of other things to do, and places to stay after you have been on your walk. Find out more
