Catch us if you can.

We corncrakes aren't natural show-offs, but visit Loch Gruinart and you might just see a different side of us.

The RSPB has really looked after things here, so even though we like to keep a low profile, it's easy to relax.

Use your ears and eyes and you can work out where we like to hang out – you won't mistake our rasping call for that of any other bird.

Come to Islay and see for yourself. Just remember, you haven't seen me – right?

Walks cost £3 for non-members, £1 for RSPB members. Under 16s go free.

When can you see us?

Guided walks around the reserve are every Thursday between 10 am and 1 pm. Booking is necessary from November to March.

How to find us

Meet our friends from the RSPB at the visitor centre at Loch Gruinart.

What should I bring?
