This season's highlights

With so much to see at Malham Cove this year, there was never a dull moment at our viewpoint. But now that the time has come to say goodbye to the peregrine chicks who have kept us entertained since Easter, find out what happened before they flew away!

Malham Cove peregrine watchpointTelescopes and binoculars provided at our viewpoint get you closer to the peregrines in the heart of Malhamdale.

We don't like to boast, but we've definitely made it to the top.

Living in high-rise accommodation isn't for everybody, but at Malham we've got everything we need: beautiful views over the Yorkshire Dales, plenty of fresh air and the best apartment in the block.

That's a block of limestone, of course – Malham's dramatic cliffs have sheltered bird life for centuries, and we're not planning to move out any time soon.

Come and see us hunting the cliffs amid our many friendly neighbours – from elusive little owls to redstarts, dippers and house martins.

That's what we call living the high life.

The viewpoint is free, but there is a car park charge at Malham National Park Information Centre.

After your visit, keep up to date with the progress of the family via the peregrine falcon blog.

When can you see us?

Our friends from the RSPB and Yorkshire Dales National Park will be at the viewpoint, 10.30 am-4.30 pm.

What's at the site?

Four telescopes and three binoculars are available for you to use. Refreshment facilities and toilets are available in Malham Village.

How to find us

The viewpoint is situated beside the footpath from Malham village to the Cove. Signs will be in place when the viewpoint is open.

By train/by bus
Trains run to the nearby market towns of Skipton and Settle, where a number of bus services then run to Malham. Please check Dalebus for full details of services and timetables.

Please note that some services run to Malham Tarn, which is a mile north of the cove. This stop does not afford easy access to the cove. Malham village is the best destination for relatively straightforward access to the viewpoint.

Why not make a day of it?

The YDNPA National Park information centre at Malham provides information about Malham and the surrounding area.

Malham is one of the most popular villages in the Yorkshire Dales. There is a stream running through the village, and many walks start from there, including to the spectacular Cove, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar.

The National Trust's Malham Tarn nature reserve is close by, with hides overlooking the Tarn. The Field Studies Council has a Field Centre at the Tarn.

This date has been brought to you in partnership with Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
