Why not join us for a dip in the harbour?
Formed by the Rivers Avon and Stour over 7000 years ago, Christchurch Harbour is a place of stunning natural beauty for the whole family to enjoy.
The harbour is also home to all kinds of amazing wildlife including splendid black-and-white lapwings with their distinctive flight and graceful white little egrets.
If you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of a stunning kingfisher as it dives past us whilst hunting for a tasty fish!
In the winter the muddy sandbanks and saltmarsh are the perfect feeding grounds for waders, ducks and geese, such as curlews, oystercatchers, wigeons and Brent geese – what will you see?
When can you see us?
There are a number of cruises running from October to March. Take a look below for the dates and times, then simply click on the link for the cruise you're interested in for more information.
All cruises depart from Mudeford Quay at 10am and last approximately two hours, weather and tide permitting. Booking is essential and in the event of a cancellation due to severe weather conditions, a full refund or booking transfer will be offered. Although every effort will be made to sail, the final decision will remain with the skipper of the boat.
For the latest weather forecast, please check the Met Office website.
What's at the site?
Access for disabled people
Our boat owners advise us that they welcome passengers with restricted mobility, but gaining access to the boats from departure points can be difficult.
As the safety of all our passengers is of paramount importance, we are advised that a small degree of mobility (assisted if necessary) is required to negotiate the boarding of the boats. Wheelchair users must be accompanied by someone who can assist them in the event of an emergency.
How to find us
There are frequent rail links from Bournemouth to Christchurch, but you will also need to catch a bus or taxi from the station to Mudeford.
Leave the A35 at Somerford roundabout, at the next roundabout (Hoburne) take the third exit for The Runway, which leads into Bure Lane, and then onto Mudeford. Follows signs to the quay. There is pay and display parking on the quay, but this can get very busy, so please arrive early. Once on the quay walk towards the ferry flag.
What should I bring?
Please bring your own food and drink should you want something. The boat is fully open to the elements, so please also bring extra warm clothing and waterproofs.
