How to get here

By bicycle (Sustrans cycle route)

National Cycle Route 6, Regional route 90 (Lancashire Cycleway).

By train

Silverdale station is on the Manchester Airport/Preston to Barrow line and is only 250 metres from the reserve. Turn left out of the station entrance, then left again and then right.

By road

The reserve is 4 miles/6 km north of Carnforth. Take J35 off the M6 (signposted Carnforth), then follow the A6 north (signposted to Milnthorpe). Brown Tourist signs direct you to the reserve off the A6 and take you through the villages of Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Storrs. Alternatively, to come from Carnforth, follow signs to Silverdale, passing through the village of Millhead. Shortly after entering Warton, turn left and follow the road until you come to a T-junction beyond the level crossing, where you turn right, then right again just before the Silverdale railway station.
