National Cycle route 1 links with regional route 42 (Suffolk Coast Cycle route).
Darsham (5 miles) on East Suffolk line from Ipswich to Lowestoft. Then use Coastlink - see below. If walking/cycling, follow A12 north, then turn right to Westleton and follow signs from there. Check connections on National Rail Enquiries website, or phone 08457 484950.
Nearest scheduled buses Leiston (4 miles). A demand-responsive bus will meet local buses and trains from 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Saturday. It must be booked the day before travelling by calling Suffolk Links Blyth on 01728 833526. If walking from Leiston, follow B1122 past Leiston Abbey, turn right to Eastbridge, and continue along tarmac road to reserve.
Follow brown tourist signs from A12 at Yoxford (if coming from south) or Blythburgh (from north) to Westleton. From Westleton, take Dunwich road, then take first right, following brown tourist signs. Turn left at crossroads, then follow reserve entrance track, with speed bumps (20 mph limit). Turn left at Scotts Hall and car park is a further 1 km (half a mile).

Access on foot along the beach from Dunwich Heath National Trust car park or from Sizewell Beach, or via public footpaths from Eastbridge to Minsmere Sluice, then follow nature trails to visitor centre.
