Vote for nature!

Osprey carrying trout

Robins, ospreys and otters can't vote. So they need us to vote for them in the European elections on 4 June.

Why? We hear a lot of bad things about Europe in the media - remember the 'metric martyrs' and rules about the shape of bananas? But a lot of groundbreaking environmental legislation can be traced back to the European Union - including a large part of the UK's nature conservation laws.

It's incredibly important for the UK's birds and wildlife - and the habitats in which they feed, breed and shelter - that the European Parliament does not scale back its environmental ambition.

The MEPs that you elect to the next European Parliament must continue to provide the same strong leadership as those that went before them.

Our wildlife needs a voice in Europe

With the diversity of challenges currently faced by the nations of Europe, and the world, that's no small thing to ask. Nevertheless, when we go to the polls on 4 June to elect those who will represent us, we will have the opportunity to ask for it.

The RSPB and BirdLife International have identified what we believe are the top four environmental priorities for the next European Parliament. We are working hard to raise these with the political parties and their candidates in an effort to secure their support, and a commitment to take action.
