The RSPCA (England and Wales), SSPCA (Scotland) and USPCA (Northern Ireland) are the national charities that help and advise on sick and injured birds and animals. The RSPB does not run bird hospitals or a rescue service.

Scottish Ornithologists Club
The Scottish Ornithologists' Club plays a central role in Scottish birdwatching, bringing together novice birdwatchers, seasoned birders and research ornithologists with the aims of studying, documenting and, not least, enjoying Scotland's varied birdlife. The SOC also supports the Local Recorders' Network and the Scottish Birds Records Committee.The Club has 2500 members and 14 branches around Scotland. The society provides an annual weekend conference, a one day Spring conference and publishes the Scottish Birds journal every quarter.
