This talk follows 2 trips to Namibia, taking you from the high dunes at Sossusviei in the south, via several other sites and north to Etosha National Park. In the north we will look fo desert elephants and visit Himba village to meet these people who still live in a traditional way. Small and large mammals, s well as a wide variety of birds, are featured in this talk.

Bempton Cliffs Visit
Location: Pick up from, and return to, Shipley Town Centre.

The Group are undertaking a trip to the RSPB Reserve at Bempton Cliffs. The minibus will leave Shipley Town Centre at 9am, returning at 7pm.
The breeding season should be in full swing and a wide variety of seabirds can be seen, including gannets, puffins, guillemots, razorbills, fulmars, kittiwakes, herring gulls and shags. Farmland birds such as skylarks, tree sparrows, linnets, meadow pipits, reed and corn buntings could also be in the area. There are normally short-eared owls and peregrines to be seen too.

We will be celebrating the Group's 40th Anniversary with a Coffee Morning and Afternoon Tea event at Shipley Library.
This even also coincides with the Feed the Birds Day: This special day reminds us about all the things we can do to help birds and other garden wildlife through the winter.
The event takes place between 10 am and 4pm. As well as the drinks and snacks, there will be craft activities for children and a chance to buy some bird food and RSPB goods.
