Blean Woodland Festival
On the weekend of 20-21 October the first ever Blean Woodlands Festival, held as part of the Canterbury Festival, will take place at the Kent Business School, which is on the Kent University Campus, opposite the turning for the Gulbenkian Theatre. A wide range of displays and activities will give a taste of life in the woods - past, present and future. There will be walks, talks, seminars, woodland craft demonstrations and have-a-go activities. For the children there is story-telling, woody art, finger puppets and more. There will also be tales and exhibitions of the woodland's wildlife, archaeology, old droveways and woodland workers, plus art and photographic exhibition, Morris dancing, Hoodening tales, guitar music, singers and folk music. Refreshments will be available. Most of the event is free.
