Changes to September Events and Talks on Birds.

STOP PRESS:
Due to unforeseen circumstances the bird walk, to be led by Hollis Cloughton, on Sunday 9th Septemer has had to be cancelled.

The talk on Thursday 20th September entitled "Polands Birds" has had to be changed as the advertised speaker is unable to attend. Ian Rowland the RSPB Tropical Forest Conservation Officer has very kindly agreed to take his place. Ian will talk about the Sumatra Project where 100,000 ha of logged forest is being restored to it's natural condition. Two hundred and sixty seven bird species are involved. It should be a fascinating talk.

BIRD TALKS:
Mike Logan Wood, the leader of the Chelmsford and Central Essex Group, offers bird talks to organisations. All of the talks are illustrated with slides and can be adapted to last from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Charges for the talks range between £35 and £45 depending upon the size of the audience. This is paid as a donation to the RSPB. Mike has recently added some new topics to the talks that he offers. His current list is as follows:
1. "The Secret Lives of Garden Birds."
2. "The Secret Lives of more UK Birds."
3. "The Wonder of Bird Migration."
4. "Bills and Beaks."
5. "Birds of the Essex Marshes and Estuaries."
6. "The Work of the RSPB."
