A Wonderful Group

Since its formation on the 6th September 1975, our Group has raised the extraordinary sum of £306,816 towards the conservation of birds and wildlife by the RSPB in the UK and the world.
It is rated to be amongst the most successful fundraisers of all the RSPB Groups.

However, like so many charitable Groups, its future is very uncertain.

Two years ago I gave notice that I would be retiring as your Group Leader in April 2011, after 11 years in the post. My wife, the Group Secretary, is retiring also, as is the Newsletter Editor and his wife.

Despite all the publicity, nobody has shown any interest, so the situation now is-

NO GROUP LEADER- NO GROUP ( RSPB Rules)
NO NEWSLETTER- NO MEMBER CONTACT

CAN YOU HELP?

TO EXIST WE NEED

GROUP LEADER- Requires about 100 hours a year
EDITOR- Requires about 48 hours a year for 4 Newsletters
TALKS ORGANISER- Requires about 48 hours a year
GROUP SECRETARY- Requires about 35 hours a year

It would be such a shame that 35 years of wonderful service should have to end.
Please do give this some thought and ring me on 01621 892045 if you would like any further information.
