Stour Wood and Copperas Bay
An area of woodland backing onto the Stour Estuary. The Stour Estuary is one of the most important estuaries in Britain for wading birds with internationally important numbers of Grey Plover, Dunlin, Redshank, Knot, but most significantly for the numbers of Black-tailed Godwit. Woodland birds that may be seen include Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap. There are a few hides overlooking the estuary.
Directions: Entry to the reserve is at the Stour Wood car park off B1352 road from Manningtree to Ramsey, one mile from Wrabness village.
