Bird Walk at The Naze, Walton-on-the-Naze.
Sunday, 28 September 2008
A perfect day, with clear blue skies and hardly a breath of wind. Almost too perfect, as it brought out the Sunday dog walkers in force. However, some nice migrants were seen, most feeding on the abundant blackberries. These included 15 Robins, 2 Redstarts, a Whitethroat, 8 Stonechats and 2 Wheatears. A large raptor was seen some way away, which we thought was a Honey Buzzard, and later heard that 6 had been seen heading down the coast from Felixstowe, so maybe? A total of 26 species was seen by the 12 who took part.
