Visit to Rye Harbour Nature reserve.
Close to reserve entrance are the following: Public Toilets, Public House, cafe and a bus stop for Rye Town which is only 10 mins away. The reserve itself has no facilities.
Rye Harbour is much larger than Dungeness and has 3 recommended walking routes.
The longest route will take you back 2 kilometres from the sea to Camber Castle. It used to be close to the beach but accretion of shingle has isolated it. Generally the habitat is more mature with tidal river banks, seashore, large areas of shingle, open water and reed beds where bitterns overwinter
