Middlesbrough and Stockton Parklands

Many of these sites are overlooked for serious birdwatching. Many birds rely on these places as wintering grounds as well as to provide good locations to rear young. Ropner Park in Stockton, Albert Park in Middlesbrough and Stewart Park near Marton can all provide some good watching. Linthorpe Cemetry, in the centre of Middlesbrough, plays host to passage and resident species. These parklands will test your skills of identification in difficult terrain and poor lighting among the tree tops and leaf litter. If you don't want to travel too far, try a visit to your local park.
