Portrack MarshOwned by Northumbrian Water, Portrack Marsh is close to the River Tees and is best accessed by the footpath along the Tees from Newport Bridge. The area has seen some changes in recent years but can still provide some good birdwatching. It can be excellent for waders in spring, autumn and winter. It is best visited regularly but briefly. Most of what is present can be seen in under an hour.
