Finding the choughs

In the Spring this year I made the journey down to Cornwall to try to find the choughs. On the way I stopped off at Prawle Point to look for cirl buntings. I was successful and had plenty of good sightings and got lots of useful field sketches, although I haven't yet produced a cirl bunting painting.

At the Lizard I was equally successful in seeing the choughs. The parent birds were feeding the young and kept returning to the same rock to perch for a brief spell and clean their bills. This enabled ample opportunity for sketching. Back in the studio I produced a chough painting which is now available as a Crewkerne Group RSPB card.
