Some of the group elected to hit the hides first and located Black Tailed Godwits, Pintail, Teal, Curlew, Shoveler, Snipe and raptors which included Peregrine, Merlin and Kestrel. Others chose to scan the scrub on the other side of the road and a few walked to the waters edge to get better views of the waders which included Grey Plover, Golden Plover, Redshank, Lapwing along with the usual Oystercatcher.
