Cup of tea

21st Anniversary

This year marks the 21st Anniversary of the RSPB, Doncaster Local Group. As part of our celebrations we had a superb dinner at The Stables, High Melton College. We were fortunate that Graham Wynne joined us and everyone enjoyed his informative, interesting and sensitive talk highlighting the progress of the Society over the last 21 years. A lovely evening which many of us will remember for a long time.

Large Flocks of Finches, etc on set aside land at High Hoyland

A report at our meeting on Wednesday 8th February of large flocks of finches, etc feeding on the set aside land behind the old church at High Hoyland near Barnsley. Recommended as well worth a visit. Take junction 38 off M1 north, onto A637, turn right to High Hoyland. Cannon Hall Farm a little further on is well worth a visit too. Of course whilst in the area why not visit the In Focus shop at Denby Dale, and the Nort West headquarters of the RSPB.
