Red-crested Pochard on Lound Gravel Pits
There are 10 Red-crested Pochard on the gravel pits. A pair has bred there for the last two years. Is this the beginnings of a new feral colony?

Avocets are Back
It is reported that around 50 Avocets are back on Reeds Island and several visiting Blacktoft Sands since 14th February. Usually Avocets are present at Blacktoft Sands throughout the spring and summer and are easily visible from the excellent hides on this reserve.
