Trip reports
Minsmere

Sunday, 19 June 2011
Our group trip this year was to Minsmere, the coach leaving Dorking at 7:30am and returning nearly twelve hours later. Its difficult to describe the glories of Minsmere in a few short words but one day is never enough. (There are several good local inns and hotels and the reserve takes on different face when you have time to spare). En route home we faced the eternal debate of which was the "star bird". Bittern and bearded tit were mentioned amonst others but in my role of website editor I decree that the highlight was watching a flamingo (thought to be ex-Marwell Zoo) taking off across the lagoon in the direction of Sizewell. Wild !
