Reserve Visits 2012: Stodmarsh.

Location: THe mini-coach will pick up passengers in and around Eastbourne before proceeding to the reserve.

An outing to Stodmarsh reserve in East Kent. Experience shows that this is a good place to see marsh harriers.

Iceland: A Land of Fire and Ice.

Location: St. Wilfrid's Church Hall, Eastbourne Road, Pevensey Bay.

Situated on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland was born of volcanism. The "ice" component of the island's name needs no explanation, yet the influence of the North Atlantic Current means that Iceland is rather warmer than other locations of the same latitude. Speaker Graham Albon will tell us more.

A walk around Pevensey Levels. This is a walk along flat ground, although we will cross some stiles and will be walking along the riverbank. Please note, there are no facilities available.

Reserve Visits 2012: Pannel Valley.

Location: The mini-coach will collect passengers in and around the local area before carrying on to the reserve.

Pannel Valley Nature Reserve is situated near Winchelsea. Having been re-flooded 30 years ago, it is established as an important wetland with reed beds and lakes. You can expect to see plenty of bird species on this mini-coach outing, which will also include a visit to a stream known as "Pannel Sewer". Try not to be put off by the name!

Wednesday Walks 2012: Seaford Head.

Another in our series of midweek walks, which are an ideal introduction to birdwatching. This walk around Seaford Head will begin at Splash Point, where there are a cafe and toilets available. There will be one steep climb along the way.

Much-loved by our local group, the Pagham Harbour site is now managed by the RSPB. It is especially good if you like to see waders.
