Children birding at Titchwell Marsh

Tombola News

As promised, the second instalment of the 'East Yorkshire Money Snatchers' - Jenny Copley, Sarah Robins, Trevor Malkin and me. The excess water on 25th June, which took its toll on so many, struck the Skipsea Gala and the ground was too waterlogged to have the fair. It was postponed until Saturday 8th September. We all arrived in good time to get our stall set out. (However, trying to keep Trevor off the huge bouncy castle slide was a trifle difficult!)
After a slow start we enticed enough people through our tent to give us a total for the day of £209.33 on the tombola, which became £199.33 after a pitch fee of £10. We had donations of £1.50 and took £6 for badge sales. Not bad for about three hours work. It was a lovely day weather wise and listening to a school steel band all afternoon just put the icing on the cake. (We had to stop Sarah and Jenny doing calypso dancing!) So the grand total for both Tombola events was £416.98. Excellent! And thank you all for your donations of prizes and keep them coming please. I hope to include a new event location next year.
Angie Bird

Many thanks to Angie and her team for their great fundraising efforts on behalf of the group. It is greatly appreciated.
