HERTS HEAVY HORSE SHOW AND FESTIVAL OF LEATHER CRAFTS

Location: Capel Manor College, Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield. Show runs 11am to 4pm approx. NOTE: We cannot take entries for horses, vehicles, stalls, or leather classes on this site. All entries to the show should be made through the Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Sociey or Capel Manor College. Both have their own websites.

The annual show of the Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Show run in conjunction with the Capel Manor Festival of Leather crafts. See fine heavy horses and agricultural vehicles, along with demonstrations and ploughing. The festival of leathercrafts runs under the auspices of The Worshipful Company of Saddlers and the Cordwainers Society. A lovely day out.

We have our usual stall of bric a brac, jewellery and other sales items and also the owl for your small change

BARN ELMS WETLAND CENTRE

Location: Meet at the Ridgeway Tavern on the Ridgway, Enfield (not far from Chase Farm Hospital) 313 to Potters Bar stops nearby. W8 and W9 Stop at or near Chase Farm. Alternatively Cockfosters Underground at 9.30 am

Bring your travel passes with you and if you are a member of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust bring your membership cards with you. Others will have to pay the normal entrance fee for the site. All refreshments can be obtained at the centre. We should arrive at approximately 11.00 and will leave from the centre bus stop at 3pm. For admission prices see WWT website. At the time of writing the prices are for 2011 and it is likely that these will go up in 2012. There are also a variety of admissions including gift aid.

NORTHERN HEIGHTS GIRL GUIDE CAMP SITE NEAR BOREHAM WOOD

Location: Meet at the Ridgeway Tavern 9.30am Bus 313 stop on the Ridgeway and W8 and W9 at nearby Chase Farm Hospital. Alternatively meet at the entrance to the camp site at 10.15. For local buses to the site use the Traveline website. Leave the site between 2.30 and 3.00 pm

The site is situated off Barnet Lane on the A411. The Corus Hotel is on the corner of the lane. Refreshments of soup, coffee, tea and cordial are complimentary. Bring your own lunch. There is a £1.25 visitors fee and we can use the facilities. There will be an easy project, nothing exhausting and suitable for everyone. Please join us as it is all to do with conservation.
NOTE: The actual date of the event is yet to be confirmed but I cannot put TBA on the date section of this site (RSPB admiistrators take note!!!!!)

STEAM AND COUNTRY SHOW

Location: Colesdale Farm, Northaw, EN6 4QZ. Between Cuffley and Northaw on the B156. Those familiar with the point to point races will know the farm though it may not actually be at the point to point site.

Enjoy a great day out in the country at this annual event. Run jointly by Whitewebbs Museum, Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Association and Enfield Historical Vehicle Trust, this is where steam traction meets with real horse power. See steam traction engines and lovely heavy horses in harness, in hand and in the ploughing field. Lots of stalls and other attractions.

We will have our usual stalls offering jewellery, knitteds, gifts, bric a brac and tombola.

Our autumn holiday this year is to the Caley Hall Hotel in Hunstanton Norfolk so there should be a lot of intersting birds on the East Anglian Coast. Runs from Sunday 4th November to Thursday 8th November.

Location: Meet at the Beefeater on the A10 Carterhatch Lane at 9.30. Back to the cars by 2.30pm

CHEESE WINE AND PATE EVENING

Location: St Andrews Church Hall, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3EG. Car parking on site. In the town centre a short walk from Enfield Town Station with a number of buses stopping nearby (W10 W8, 121, 317, 313, 303,191,192,231 239). Enfield Chase Station is about 1/2 a mile away. Entrance via the Market Square and Silver Street.
