The site is situated off Barnet Lane (A411). The Corus/Edgewarebury Hotel is on the corner of the lane. Refreshments of soup, coffee, tea, cordial, are complimentary but bring your own lunch. There is a £1.25 visitor's fee payable on the day. It gives us a chance to do some conservation work, check the occupancy of the bird boxes and the wild flowers (nothing too strenuous). Make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Leave the site 2.45 pm

The annual show of the Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Show run in conjunction with the Capel Manor Festival of Leather crafts. See fine Heavy Horses and agricultural vehicles, along with demonstrations and ploughing. The festival of leathecrafts runs under the auspices of The Worshipful Company of Saddlers and the Cordwainers Society. A lovely day out.
We have our usual stall of bric a brac, jewellery and other sales items and also the owl for your small change

Event is an easy walk from Turkey Street station. Walk right, along Turkey street to the A10. Turn right and keep walking to the Bullsmoor Lane Cross Roads. The college is signposted on the opposite side of the road; crossing is by the underpass, then left along Bullsmoor Lane about 100 yars or so to the entrance.
317 and 217 buses to Waltham Cross drop at the stop before the lights.
I can recommend lunch at the Pied Bull which is just a little further along Bullsmoor at the junction with Bulls Cross.
