Redshank perched on post

BOOK NOW! MINSMERE COACH TRIP 21st September

Once again we are travelling to Suffolk to visit Minsmere Reserve with its 8 hides covering a variety of habitat. Usuall home to spectacular waders, wildfowl and Marsh Harriers.

Trip costs £14. Reserve is free to RSPB members with cards. Non Members £5.00 £3.00.

Various pick up points starting at 7.30am and returning around 7.30 pm. Full details are on The Events page

WE'RE BACK!!! MONTHLY MEETINGS RESTART

We're back after the summer break with our regularly Monthly Thursday Evening meetings in St Andrews Church Hall, Enfield. A wide variety of interesting speakers have been booked, so do come and join us throughout the winter months. Watch out too for our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 22 November. Our December meeting will be our Annual Cheese, Wine and Pate Social Evening (4th December)

ENFIELD STEAM AND COUNTRY SHOW

Between Northaw village and Cuffley (2miles walk from the station). This venue is on the 242 bus route which runs hourly in both directions between Waltham Cross and Potters Bar. Check Traveline for full details. Those who know where the point to point is held will know the farm on which this event is being held, though it may not be actually at the racecourse, there are a number of bus stops nearby.

Organised by Whitewebbs Museum and Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Association this excellent show moves here from Trent Park for the first time this year. Details are on the organisers websites.

MID WEEK WALKS

Last year we tried to be a little more adventuresome, some people enjoyed that, others wanted to stay in our own locality, so we have a mixture again. Maybe you should let us know what you, the walkers prefer.

Whatever, we don't rush around, ambling seems to suit the majority better. You are welcome, try a walk with us, you might enjoy it and we will be really pleased to see you.

COACH OUTINGS

Send details of required seats (trip, number of seats, Adult/Child and pick-up points) and Stamped Addressed Envelope.

Please note that we cannot accept provisional bookings so payment must be made at the time of the booking. Monies are not transferable to other trips or refundable unless arranged two months in advance, or your seat is resold, or the trip is cancelled for any reason. cheques should be made payable to ENFIELD RSPB LOCAL GROUP. Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted. We are usually able to find a cafe on the outward journey, but otherwise do bring sufficient refreshments for the day. All return times are approximate. Can we please ask single persons, travelling alone, to double up so that couples can sit together.

EARLYBOOKINGS ARE NOW REQUIRED (at least two weeks prior to trip) TO ENABLE THE CANCELLATION OF A TRIP SHOULD THERE BE INSUFFIECIENT NUMBERS.

THE ENFIELD RSPB LOCAL GROUP

All monthly evening meetings are held in St. Andrews Church Hall, Silver Street, Enfield. Usually First Thursday of the month. 8.00 to 10.15. Admission £2.30. Partakers of refreshments are asked to make a small additional donation to help with rising costs.

Car parking at the hall. Venue is an easy flatwalk from Enfield Town Station (less than five minutes) and nearby bus stops which serve a variety of routes, 191, 313, 217, 317, 121 192, W8. Fully wheelchair accessible.
