Wednesday, 14 December 2011 Trip reports for December 2011 Day visit to Paxton pits on 7th It was very windy at times. Bird sightings included redwing, fieldfare, goldeneye, bullfinch, goldfinch, grey heron, numerous wildfowl and kingfisher.The morning walk on 14th took us round Rothamsted Park and farm. It was very cold and windy.27 species of birds were spotted including good views of jay, a singing song thrush, a pair of bullfinches and a flock of visiting skylark. More... |
