East London Birders Forum
ELBF was set up in August 1997 as a forum for local birders to network more easily and to accumulate data on the local avifauna and most importantly to promote the importance of local patch birding. It has evolved somewhat over the last ten years with the creation of our website and our continued involvement in local events and surveys. We have become the information hub for this area but rely on your records and photos to keep things fresh and up to date.
Redbridge Birdwatching
The London Borough of Redbridge holds a wealth of birdlife, much of which goes largely unnoticed. From breeding Tawny Owls to wintering flocks of Golden Plover that are sometimes among the largest in the south east... This blog is to aid local birders and to track the bird population, number of breeding birds and bird movements in Redbridge Borough. Daily sightings are listed below, & monthly summaries are sent out by email. Please let me know if you would like to be included.

RSPB Rainham Marshes
Rainham Marshes protects an ancient, low-lying grazing marsh in the Thames Estuary. Its complex of wet grassland and ditches, together with rank grassland and scrub, supports many breeding and wintering birds.Wildlife also includes scarce wetland plants and insects, and a key population of the nationally declining water vole. The site has a history of neglect, but the RSPB is working to restore important habitats and improve their biodiversity. This will transform a former wasteland into an important natural asset, and help raise public awareness of local conservation issues.
BTO
The BTO is an independent charitable research institute combining professional and citizen science aimed at using evidence of change in wildlife populations, particularly birds, to inform the public, opinion-formers and environmental policy- and decision-makers. Our impartiality enables our data and information to be used both by Government and NGO campaigners.
