Coach trip to Gibraltar Point NNR (joint trip with Stevenage Local Group)
Location: Gibraltar Point NNR, Lincolnshire
We make an overdue return to this Ramsar listed reserve, which incorporates three miles of the attractive coastline south of Skegness, looking for seabirds, waders and woodland birds. This is a good site for wintering shorelarks and Lapland buntings.

Coach trip to Titchfield Haven NNR (joint trip with Stevenage Local Group)
Location: Titchfield Haven NNR, Hampshire
This quiet and attractive reserve on the Hampshire coast boasts excellent visitor facilities and a wide variety of birdlife, with cetti's warblers being particularly common. There is the possibility of seeing early returning summer visitors, such as chiffchaff and Sandwich tern, as well as finding rare ducks and grebes on the sea. Note: reserve permits cost £3.10.

Some of us may wish to explore the reedbeds, woodland and heathland between Walberswick and Dunwich, looking for birds such as bittern, grasshopper warbler and Dartford warbler, whilst others can simply enjoy a relaxing day out on the Suffolk coast!

We make a return visit to this beautiful National Park at a time when its "special" upland breeding birds (including dipper, redstart and pied flycatcher) will be at their most active and (hopefully!) most visible.

Coach trip to Stodmarsh NNR (joint trip with RSPB Stevenage Local Group)
Location: Stodmarsh NNR, Kent
We end the season with a visit to this splendid wetland reserve just east of Canterbury. This is a trip for the all-round naturalist, with the opportunity to see a host of woodland and reedbed breeding birds as well as dragonflies and wild flowers. If the weather is suitable and access problems can be overcome we will make a short visit to Blean Woods nearby, looking for nightingales and heath fritillary butterflies.
