On 25 October we joined RSPB Stevenage Local Group for a very enjoyable coach trip to Holkham and Wells. Once again we enjoyed excellent weather, although the warm sunshine and offshore winds were hardly ideal for bringing in drift migrants! Nevertheless we found a good variety of birds with snow buntings and a lone shorelark providing excellent views, whilst a few of our Group caught glimpses of a Ringtail hen harrier. Razorbill, Arctic skua and white-fronted goose were also seen, whilst the skies were regularly filled by skeins of noisy pink-footed geese. To cap the day off, a barn owl was seen from the coach as we wended our way back along the Norfolk coastline.
