The rspb is running a campaign to oppose the proposed development at Lodge Hill Kent, which is the single best site for Nightingales in the country bar none. Because of this it is designated as a SSSI. Medway Council want to build 5,000 homes on this site. Public consultation on this decision will be closing soon. Over 100 Avocets were noted glistening in the sun as we moved down to the shoreline. Along the mudflats over 500 Redshank were present along with Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit and a few Dunlin. More...
