Over fifteen members from the RSPB Lancaster Local Group and the RSPB South Lakeland Local Group met one mile south of Tebay in the valley of the Borrow Beck which is a tributary of the River Lune. Our quest was to see the wild birds and other wildlife that inhabit this delightful valley during the early days of spring. Near our starting point, where Borrow Beck enters the Lune, is a wooded ravine enclosed by the high fells, until after half a mile or so upstream, the valley opens up and provides a wider vista of the expansive upland scenery. More...
